Thanks to all of you, the Pine River Times is going to make it a few more Fridays into your mailbox.
The subscription drives in front of both the Grocery Store and Shur-Valu earlier this month raised more than $3,000 in advertising, donations and subscriptions! I was shocked! A big thank you to Katie Middleton, Sandra Trujillo and Cecilia Robbins for organizing the drives, and the rest of the volunteers for helping out.
Many businesses have stepped forward to run multiple and larger-sized ads in our paper. I hope you’ll thank them for advertising in the paper when you stop in. I also hope everyone will think about shopping local for Christmas. Let’s help our neighbors!
Our tentative plan is to come out early next week for Thanksgiving, then throughout December.
I’ll be honest, I don’t know what will happen after that. January, February and March have traditionally been the toughest for months for advertising sales in our little publication.
In the meantime, we’re going to have some fun with the Times! Next week, watch for the details on a special contest we’re hosting. We’re asking folks to find all of the little BUCK ads in our paper. We’ll ask you to write down the names of the businesses that have a Buck in their ads. Then you’ll be able to take your entries to two local businesses for the chance to win two tickets to The Nutcracker at the Community Concert Hall, along with some other really cool stuff!
Have fun this Thanksgiving, read the Times over the weekend with your family, and enter the contest! Thanks for reading!
