We give thanks and honor Aria, Dylan

When it comes to raising children, there are highs and lows.

Most of us, thankfully, don't have to deal with the pain that the Cranes have had to face.

Brian and Wendy Crane are dealing with the difficult situation of caring for one child with debilitating cancer, then trying to provide a normal upbringing for their other two children. On Tuesday, our communities did our best to support them, and I was so proud that we all joined together to give what we could, helping a family in need during an incredibly tough time. There have been a multitude of fundraisers for the family held in Ignacio, Durango and Bayfield, and the Cranes have said how much this means to them and their extended family.

I hope we continue to support this family, with both our donations and our continued prayers.

Also this week, we commemorated a sad anniversary.

It was two years ago, on Nov. 19, 2012, that Dylan Redwine was reported as missing.

Our staff could write a book about this - heck, we've joked about doing so.

Unfortunately, there are no new developments to report in the ongoing investigation. There is still a reward of more than $50,000 for information regarding his disappearance.

We hope whoever took his life is brought to justice.

And have a happy Thanksgiving. During a wonderful day of having lots to eat, I hope we can remember those who need help, and our continued support, in our small and tight-knit communities.

Thanks for reading.
