The Ignacio Wrestling Association is a nonprofit organization that began in May to promote wrestling in Ignacio and the surrounding communities. Our meetings and membership are open to anyone who would like to attend as well as participate in our activities.

Our mission is to help all wrestlers, from pee wees to adults, to become better and more competitive athletes; as well as instilling values, respect, sportsmanship and an understanding of community involvement, work ethic and self-esteem. Our volunteers are available to help with fundraisers, travel to non-school sanctioned events and provide additional experienced coaching. The money raised by IWA is available for scholarships, travel, equipment as well as any other needs deemed appropriate by the association.

IWA has a summer program which travels for seven to eight weeks of the year. IWA wrestlers attended numerous camps and tournaments in June and July 2014.

As of Sept. 1, our community's traveling tournament pee wee program joined forces with IWA. Since that time, we have joined the Four Corners Wrestling Association. Practice for pee wee traveling tournaments starts Feb. 23. Everyone is welcome.
