Foutz heading to CSU

Sophmore makes verbal commitment to D-1 volleyball powerhouse
Maddi Foutz, a Bayfield sophomore, has verbally committed to play for Colorado State University in two years.

Another Bayfield volleyball player is heading off to Colorado State University.

Well, in a couple of years anyway.

Maddi Foutz, the team's sophomore libero, made a verbal commitment to CSU women's volleyball in the Mountain West Conference this week. She graduates in 2017.

The team's head coach, Terene Foutz, who is also Maddie's mother, announced the commitment.

In her 2013 and 2014 prep seasons at BHS Girls Volleyball, Foutz produced, having led both the BHS Program and the Intermountain League (IML) Conference in digs, aces, and SRP (Serve Receive Passing). She is a two-time IML 1st Team All-Conference Selection, and BHS Volleyball Defensive Player of the Year. Her USAVolleyball Club Program is Four Corners Volleyball Club, since she began her volleyball journey at the age of nine.

Foutz has qualified since 2011 to represent the USA at the USAVolleyball High Performance Championships around the country.

CSU Head Coach Tom Hilbert continues to forge an exemplary program, Terene Foutz noted. Hilbert has led the CSU Rams to six consecutive Mountain West Conference Championships and produced numerous All-Americans.

Kirstie Hillyer, one of the BHS team's seniors, signed last fall to play at CSU.
