Rain, rain, it's OK (We hope)

Speaking of rain....

I feel like I'm caught in an endless loop of that Johnny Cash song "Five feet high and rising" where he sings "Looks like we'll be blessed with a little more rain."

While our problems don't compare to those of, say, Texans on the Brazos River, even having to be concerned about floods is a little unusual around here, other than the occasional gullywasher above Vallecito.

Since the construction of Vallecito Dam, flooding hasn't been much of an issue here. But when the reservoir's full, the river's full, and we're blessed with a little more rain, who knows what can happen?

Carole remembers seeing Shoshone Park in Ignacio under some floodwaters, and that hasn't happened yet, so maybe we'll be OK.

We had our first rainy Yard Sale Day in memory on Saturday.

While I found more treasures than usual (spending $14 total) some sellers reported a slow day. I don't think the clouds looming overhead helped.

Then I got to thinking. What if we have a rainy 4th? Or San Ignacio Fiesta? Or bike rally? Or - horrors - Bayfield Heritage Days.

Well, worrying about the weather doesn't do anyone a bit of good, so we'll just hope for the best.

I hope everyone can stay dry this weekend.

Thanks for reading.
