In addition to playing hard, these girls are playing for a cause.
The Bayfield High School girls volleyball will play its annual 2015 Pink Digs Cancer Benefit matches on Tuesday night.
The C team takes the court at 4 p.m., followed by junior varsity at 5 p.m. and varsity at 6 p.m.
Funds raised benefit the Health Coalition of Southwest Colorado Emergency Scholarship Fund. This scholarship fund assists local patients in southwest Colorado who are trying to cover medical and living expenses while undergoing treatment.
Pink Digs T-shirts will be available for purchase at the games.
BHS players also will wear pink jerseys in honor of two Bayfield girls who have lost their lives to cancer, Sam McClure and Aria Crane.
"Please join us Tuesday in celebration of two wonderful young ladies and the resiliency and courage they have taught us all," Coach Terene Foutz wrote on behalf of the team.
