Pilates instructor teaching new technique

Demonstration, clothing show and bake sale to benefit BHS club
Clothing for LuLaRoe will be available at the open house at Komoska Pilates.

Strength and flexibility exercises, cookies and new clothes - sounds like a good combination.

Renata Clance, owner of Kamoksa Pilates Studio in Bayfield, is offering a new form of excerise, Spirals, that focuses on balance, steady motions, and strengthening core and posture muscles.

Clance will present the technique and two free workshops next Wednesday, Oct. 14, at her studio in Bayfield. Anyone is welcome to come try the movements, or just watch and see what they think.

"It's a very natural movement for any age," Clance said in her thick Slovakian accent. She has studied Pilates for years in her native land, as well as the Czech Republic. "It works around your spine, the upper extremities, and strengthens your back muscles. The music is calming and very relaxing."

The open house is from 4 to 8 p.m. at her studio at 357 N. Mountain View Drive, above the Pine River Shares office and Associates Group Insurance.

Clance will demonstrate the Spirals techniques, which originated in France, from 5 to 6 p.m. and 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The demonstrations are free.

During the open house, Kani Cassens of LuLaRoe will show her clothing. LuLaRoe specializes in comfortable clothing for women of all sizes, including exercise wear.

A bake sale at the event will benefit the Bayfield High School Technology Student Association.

For more information about the event, contact Clance at 799-1573 or Cassens at lularoekanicassens@gmail.com.
