Get the Led out

The American Led Zeppelin will recreate classic sounds Oct. 14
Get the Led Out is comprised of Led Zeppelein fans Paul Sinclair, Paul Hammond, Jimmy Marchiano, (guitar/vocals), Adam Ferraioli (drums/percussion), Phil D'Agostino (bass) and Andrew Lipke (keyboards/guitar/vocals).

Fans of Led Zeppelin can relive the music of the seminal group as the Community Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College presents Get The Led Out, the American Led Zeppelin, Wednesday, Oct. 14, at 7:30 p.m.

From the bombastic and epic, to the folky and mystical, Get The Led Out (GTLO) is said to capture the essence of the recorded music of Led Zeppelin and bring it to the concert stage. The Philadelphia-based group consists of six accomplished musicians devoted to accurately and completely delivering Led Zeppelin's studio recordings.

Dubbed by the media as "The American Led Zeppelin," Get The Led Out presents a two hour-plus set that spans the career of the legendary British super group. With a strong focus on the early years, the band also touches on the deeper cuts that were seldom, if ever, heard in concert.

GTLO was initially formed in 2003 by lead singer Paul Sinclair and long-time friend/guitarist Paul Hammond. The band is rounded out by Jimmy Marchiano, (guitar/vocals), Adam Ferraioli (drums/percussion), Phil D'Agostino (bass) and Andrew Lipke (keyboards/guitar/vocals).

"This is not an impersonator act but rather a group of musicians who were fans first, striving to do justice to one of rock's iconic bands," said Charles Leslie, Concert Hall director. "GTLO put on a great show last fall, so we're pleased to be able to bring them back."

Get The Led Out's approach to performance of the hallowed catalog is not unlike classical performance, according to lead singer Sinclair.

"Led Zeppelin are sort of the classical composers of the rock era," Sinclair said in a news release. "I believe 100 years from now they will be looked at as the Bach or Beethoven of our time. As cliché as it sounds, their music is timeless."

Reported Lousiville writer Hunter Embry of a recent concert, "Folks young and old danced, screamed, head-banged and laughed their way through the night, giving a standing ovation between just about every song. Get The Led Out didn't just bring the Led, they brought it to life. Hats off to GTLO. Next time, I'm bringing the whole family."
