Upper Pine captain thanks supporters as she starts cancer treatment

I would like to say thank you to everyone who came to the Upper Pine Fire pancake breakfast at Station 5 on Sunday, Oct. 25. I have always been amazed by how much this community is willing to give and I feel privileged to have been the recipient of so much love and support. Having one less thing to worry about as I begin treatment will make life much easier.

Special thanks my friends and co-workers from Upper Pine Fire for all the work they put into getting this together so quickly and thanks to Los Pinos Fire, Durango Fire and Pagosa Fire for coming by - it was great seeing so many people I hadn't seen in a while.

I would also like to thank Brenda's Café, Riverside RV Park, Upper Pine FPD Auxiliary, Floral Expressions, Baked, Bottom Shelf Brewery, Family Dollar, Basin COOP and Durango Party Rental for contributing to the breakfast.
