Oxford resident to head ag leadership program

Cathy Calderwood

The Colorado Agricultural Leadership Program (CALP) is proud to announce that Cathy Calderwood of Oxford will be the organization's new executive director.

"It is critical that we develop leaders for agriculture that will be spokespeople for those that provide the food, fiber and energy for our urban cousins," said Calderwood. "I look forward to helping facilitate the development of these champions."

CALP is a two-year leadership program that develops and enhances the leadership capabilities of diverse men and women committed to the future of Colorado's agricultural and rural communities. They do this through multi-day seminars throughout Colorado, as well as two national educational experiences and an international learning opportunity.

"We are excited that we have a premier leader in agriculture to head this great organization," added Jerry Sonnenberg, board president of CALP. "Cathy has both the agriculture background as well as the leadership skills necessary to train the next generation of leaders."

This program has evolved over the last 30 years and is currently a partnership between Colorado State University, the Colorado Department of Agriculture, agriculture organizations and the many supporters and alumni of the program.

Calderwood can be reached at cathy@coloagleaders.org or by calling (303) 547-5963.
