Next Bayfield block party is July 21

The next downtown Bayfield block party will be 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, July 21, on Mill Street.

The town will close off Mill Street. Community members are invited to come downtown for food, beverages, music and fun for the whole family. There will be a beer garden with beer provided by Bottom Shelf Brewery (proceeds go to the Be FRANK Foundation) and food sold by local restaurants and community vendors. For the kids there will be "street bowling" and a bouncy house provided by Lewis True Value Mercantile.

Local electrofusion/funk/jam band Sky Pilot will provide the dance tunes.

The first block party was on June 23. "It was really nice to see so many of our friends and neighbors out at the last block party," said Judy Poe, assistant director/community liaison of Pine River Library. "We'd love to see you all again, and bring a friend!"

The final party, on Aug. 25, will feature the neo-soul sounds of Hello Dollface.

For these last two parties, new vendors are still welcome, especially food vendors. As the parties showcase and celebrate the talents of people living in the Pine River Valley, the town is calling all crafters, food producers, artisans, wool producers, honey bee products and people who offer services like pet sitting, child care, pack trips, and river guides to sign up for a vendor booth at each party. Local businesses, clubs and nonprofits are asked to showcase their products and services. All community organizations are encouraged to participate!

If you already have a Town of Bayfield business license, the vendor registration is free, otherwise, $25 will pay for your booth and license fee. Booths will be free for all nonprofits. Vendor applications can be picked up at the Bayfield Town Hall or accessed online at www.bayfield.gov.

For more information, contact Jackie Morlan at 769-6873 or Judy Poe at 884-2222, ext. 513.

The block parties are organized by the Town of Bayfield and the Pine River Library.
