I have to respond to the opinion written by Carole McWilliams (Pine River Times, Aug. 5.)
I find myself wondering, in the midst of the overwhelming illegal activity that has been happening in the Obama Administration and Democratic Party, how anyone can seriously be thinking of voting for the corrupt Clinton family as our nation's leader.
After reading the ill-informed column in the Aug. 5 paper, I now know how some people might vote that way. Wow! How uninformed and blind some people can be!
Let me fill you in on a few ideas you are misinformed on, Carole, (and this is common knowledge if you do your research!)
We do live in a piece of heaven with very little violence (that's why we choose to live here), but because violence and chaos does not affect you firsthand does not mean it isn't here. As a teacher in the public school system for 25 years, chaos, violence and dysfunction is alive and happening in La Plata County.
That being said, there is a real problem all over America today, not just in big cities. America has been torn down, belittled and apologized for during the last seven years' presidency, and America is not the strong country it once was. There is racial tension, terrorist threats, weakened military forces, economic failure, corruption, lack of moral responsibility and entitlement issues, to name just a few, due to President Barack Obama's lack of leadership and our corrupt government.
And I have to ask, Carole, how do you feel about Obama giving our enemies $400 million that he admits will probably go into the hands of terrorists (saw the Obama interview footage on Fox News, something you might want to watch for facts. This footage will not be seen on most news coverage, I'm sure.) Well, that's just perfect.
The person Carole can't seem to name has a name, it's Donald Trump. And the other candidate is Hillary Clinton. Time to stop living in a fantasy world and grow up, America!
I can say I don't like all the characteristics of Trump, but I do like that he is for America, he will make our military strong again, he shoots it to us straight and will stop the entitlement/economic dysfunction, and work to make sure America is great again!
And a few facts Carole also is "off" with: guns are a part of our freedom. They don't kill people any more than a car does, it's the person using it!
Trump never said he "admires" Saddam Hussein, his words were, "Hussein has power" which he did and it needed to be taken away, which we did. In your comment about Congress, let's not forget that Obama bypassed Congress on all of his executive orders!
Trump will never be "our savior," that's Jesus Christ!
The soul of our country has already been lost, but I am hoping to get it back!
OK, America, it's time to wake up. You are not entitled to anything! You have to work! Take the needed time to research the facts, listen to something other than social media and mainstream news coverage, and let's not forget ... pray! This is our responsibilities as Americans and as adults.
P.S. Ever watch "Watter's World," Carole? You'd be a hit!
