Sculptures on display at Bayfield library

Pine River Library is hosting a collection of sculptures by nationally acclaimed artists from the region. These sculptures are on display through the Sculptureworks organization, which represents a juried international consortium of sculptors. Pieces are located throughout the library among the books, as well as outside of the building and in the Community Garden.

All the pieces are for sale. Some fit easily on a shelf while others need their own display space, such as the full-size mountain lion by Rosetta.

In celebration of the exhibit, the library has developed a scavenger hunt for all ages, which includes a special prize upon completion. All are welcome to stop by and enjoy these whimsical and original art pieces, from a life-sized mountain lion to a "grandma" with a lap and a book to share with little ones.

For more information, contact the library at 884-2222, ext. 510. Information about the sculptors' organization is at www.gobronze.com.
