If you've ever wanted to see a donkey playing basketball in a high school gym, Saturday is your lucky day.

The Ignacio Future Farmers of America will host Dairyland Donkey Basketball at 7 p.m. Saturday in the high school gym.

In the first "game," Ignacio teachers will play employees of the Southern Ute Indian Tribe. In the second game, rodeo club members will play FFA members.

The company does about 200 shows a year and has been in business for 12 years. Donkeys wear rubber shoes to prevent damage to gym floors, and if there's, well, a donkey accident, the game is quickly stopped for a little cleanup.

The company also organizes baseball games and celebrity races in the summer.

Tickets are $7 in advance and $10 at the door. Advance tickets are on sale from any FFA member, at Farmers Fresh Market in Ignacio, and in the district administration office.
