First National Bank holds grand re-opening in Durango

Many of the trophy animal mounts have been relocated, but hunting enthusiasts will be pleased to know that a big bull elk and some other animal mounts are still on display at First National Bank of Durango's renovated main office in downtown Durango.

After 10 months of work, the bank held an official ribbon cutting on Thursday, Oct. 13. Bank officers and employees showed off their revamped space as an appreciative crowd ate appetizers and listened to members of San Juan Symphony's Youth Orchestra perform on violins and cello.

Bank owner Tom Fitzgerald and Mark Daigle, the president and CEO, officially cut the ribbon amid cheers by the Durango Diplomats of the Durango Chamber of Commerce.

The bank's main office is located at 259 W. Ninth St.
