There are plenty of family events this weekend in Bayfield and Ignacio, or a short drive away.

Happy Halloween!

A haunted house fundraiser will take place from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the ELHI Community Center, in the old Ignacio Elementary School building at Colorado highways 151 and 172 in Ignacio.

Visitors can experience Frau Blucher's asylum for very peculiar children.

The event is a collaboration involving 3 Twisted Minds Productions, SUCAP Youth Services and Skills for Living and Learning. Proceeds will support their programs for children and youth.

The cost is $7. No one younger than the age of 10 will be admitted.

The 10th annual festival is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in the Three Springs Plaza and surrounding areas. The Be Frank Foundation hosts its fourth annual Frank 'n Stein fundraiser on Saturday.

The event features live music, games, costume contests, prizes, food, and a sky-high pumpkin smash from 3 to 8 p.m.

Admission is free. Commemorative mugs will be sold, along with a beer or beverage from Bottom Shelf Brewery.

All proceeds benefit Be Frank's music and outdoor education programming for area youth.

33rd annual Sunnyside Elementary Halloween Carnival and silent auction is from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29.

Admission is a book or baked good per family. Game tickets will be sold at the door for 25 cents each.

Events include a haunted house, book walk, plinko, bingo, bouncy house and much more. All proceeds benefit Sunnyside's reading and computing programs.

Trick or Treat

Mill Street Trick or Treat is from 3 to 5 p.m. on Halloween at participating businesses in downtown Bayfield. For more information, call 884-2331.

The Community Halloween Carnival is from 6 to 9 p.m. on Monday at the Sky Ute Casino Events Center.

There will be games, prizes, a raffle and costume contest at 7:30 p.m. Entry is $2 per person or $5 per family, or one non-perishable item per family member.
