3B is good for business, community

The Best Schools for Tomorrow are good for local business and our community overall. Your yes vote on ballot issue 3B will support economic development as well as make a statement that the Bayfield community believes in our kids and the importance of education.

Good schools help drive economic development as well as adding to our quality of life. We all take great pride in being from Bayfield and we have always stepped up to the plate when it was time to support the needs of our kids. We are once again at that point and here are just a couple of examples why we need to commit to passing 3B.

The Bayfield Elementary Primary School (BEPS) was originally built in 1925 and has undergone several renovations since that time. However, the building is no longer equipped to meet the needs of current students nor the needs of future students.

The Bayfield Elementary School also faces overcrowding, safety issues as they relate to student drop-off and pick-up and a projected larger enrollment in years to come.

3B will address those issues as well as prepare our community for the future. And while the primary focus of the facilities will always be education, there is a clear need for additional space for affordable after-school and out-of-school programs, as well as sports and other community events.

With a commitment of more than $8 million from the Colorado Department of Education in the form of a BEST grant, now is the time to vote yes on 3B. Our investment will allow the school district, and our community, the ability to make Bayfield an even better place to live, work and play.
