Remember in the movie "Field of Dreams" when Kevin Costner carved a baseball diamond into his cornfield? We have our own Field of Dreams in Bayfield, and it is called the Performing Arts Center. "Build it and they will come." We did, and they are.

Last weekend's Air Force Academy Band concert was thrilling! In case you missed it, the Performing Arts Center was packed with appreciative Bayfield residents and talented Air Force musicians.

In addition to the Air Force Band, that stage has hosted Music In The Mountains performers, as well as Bayfield students' orchestra, band, choral, and percussion concerts, plays, etc.

I remember when we piled into the high school gym bleachers to watch our kids' orchestra concerts. Lousy acoustics and uncomfortable seats: yuck. Now we have an appropriate venue for the performing arts.

Thank you to everyone (Be FRANK Foundation, all Bayfield schools, citizen voters) who supported the vision of building a performing arts center in little ol' Bayfield; it is really paying off.
