Silent Auction Donation Needed! Times holding silent auction this month to benefit Newspapers in Education NIE provides newspapers to teachers in Bayfield and Ignacio to use in their classrooms at no charge. Every year, more than 400 students use the Times NIE papers as part of their classroom education. The Times silent auction will be similar to one that was held last spring to bring the Rachels Challenge program to Bayfield schools. Items for auction include original wire art jewelry by Patricia and William Milner, a subscription to the Durango Herald, hay, propane, services by Integrity Heating and Cooling, a gift certificate from Roots Natural Foods, and a manicure-pedicure from Glow’s Salon. Auction items are being added daily, and items will be up for bid soon and displayed at the Lavenia McCoy Public Library. For more information, or to make a donation, call the Times at 884-2331.
