 Ignacio girls win league championship

Team members and fans cheered on the court Saturday after the Ignacio girls won the league championship.
The Ignacio Bobcat girls hit the court running Saturday against Norwood and never looked back, defeating the top 1A team 55-48. The win clinched the San Juan Basin League Championship.
In wrestling action at the Colorado state tournament, Colter McMenimen of Bayfield took third in his weight class, while Matthew Eckstein overcame a discolated shoulder to take sixth in the heavyweight division. Other BHS wrestlers who competed at state were Tyler Beebe, Mattew Cerdaf, Drake Rhodes, Alec Rodriguez and Joseph Zink. Josh Gallegos was a heavyweight representing the Ignacio Bobcats.
The Bobcat boys basketball team plays in a home pigtail game at 7 p.m. Tuesday to determine if they move into post-season play.
