EIS released on HD drilling

The record of decision on the Environmental Impact Statement for the Northern San Juan Basin Coal Bed Methane Project will be announced Wednesday, April 4, at 11 a.m. at the San Juan Public Land Center in Durango.
Hearings for the environmental impact statement, which studies the affects of drilling in the HD Mountains and surrounding area, attracted large crowds in 2005.
The Towns of Ignacio, Bayfield and La Plata County Commission have asked for reduced or no drilling in the HD area.
