Alleged embezzler released on bond 7/6/2007 By: Melanie B Mazur
Juan Quintana, a bookkeeper for Bayfield Chiropractic charged with felony theft, is free on a $25,000 bond after being arrested on June 28. Quintana has a court appearance scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Monday in district court. Bayfield Marshal Jim Harrington said Quintana embezzled at least $76,000 from Bayfield Chiropractic while working there as a bookkeeper from 2005 to 2007. Quintana used both company credit cards and checks for his own expenses, Harrington said.
Catherine McClure, the wife of Dr. Dan McClure, owner of Bayfield Chiropractic, said her husband couldn’t comment on the charges.
Quintana, 38, is a resident of Pagosa Springs.
