Saturday and Sunday, July 3 and 4. Vallecito Arts and Crafts Fair. “The best fair by a dam site,” features top-quality items from around the region with 60 vendors, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the grassy meadow below the dam. Chris Mystrom, 884-2300. Navajo State Park, Native American flute concert by Charles Martinez, 8 p.m. Saturday at the park amphitheater. David Snyder and Sharman Alto will play Sunday at 8 p.m., 883-2208. Saturday, July 3 7 to 10 a.m. Lions Club Pancake Breakfast in the Lions Hall on Church Street. Come and get ‘em and bring your appetite! $7 for adults, $3 for kids. 8 a.m. Firecracker 5K run and family walk sponsored by Skills for Living and Learning, starting on Mill Street in front of the park. Registration continues today at Bayfield Town Hall. 9:30 a.m. Mill Street Drug pet parade. Bring your rooster, OK, even a dog, in his finest clothes. 10 a.m. The big daddy of them all, the Bayfield Fourth of July parade, held this year on the third. More than 60 entries means it will last until at least 11 a.m., so bring your chairs. 10 a.m., TARA, the Tiffany Arboles Rosa Allison Association, will have its parade in Arboles, followed by a barbecue in the TARA park. The Arboles parade is short and fun, and you will get wet, so consider yourself warned. This is a great stop to make if you’re heading to Navajo Reservoir for the day. 11 a.m. The party starts in Joe Stephenson Park in Bayfield. Vendors, kids’ activities, and live music, with Midnight Backhand from 11:15 to 12:30, and the Lawn Chair Kings from 12:45 to 2 p.m. There’s no beer tent in the park this year, but you can quench your thirst for adult beverages downtown at La Casita, AJ’s Pizza, Mill Street Brews, or Tequila’s. 11 a,m. to 1 p.m. Pine River Times silent auction to benefit Newspapers in Education. NIE provides newspapers at no cost to Ignacio and Bayfield teachers to use in their classrooms. Let’s help teach our kids how to read, folks! Bid often at the green and white tent! Lots of great items, including Amerigas propane, cool stuff from SWAG, and a night’s stay and dinner at Sky Ute Casino Resort, plus 40+ other great items, services and gift certificates. If you have a donation, drop it off today at the Times offices or bring it Saturday to the park. 11:30 Redneck Fashion Show. Yep, this is high fashion, Bayfield style. Wear your best irrigating boots, overalls and camouflage and join in the fun. There’s even a fancy-dandy Redneck walkway made of cardboard and duct tape. It’s your chance to win a $50 gift certificate from Redneck and finally get a new pair of Wranglers! The audience gets to pick the winner! There will also be some new duds courtesy of Redneck Enterprises, featuring notable (notorious?) locals wearing stylish wear. Noon Serrano’s annual horseshow tournament in Eagle Park 1 p.m. Coed one-pitch softball tournament. Registration is still taking place today at Bayfield Town Hall. 1 p.m. Silent auction closes, no ifs, ands or buts. Come pick up your stuff before you head home. 7 to 9 p.m. Psychedelic Mojo will play at Bayfield High School before the fireworks. 9 p.m. (give or take,) fireworks at BHS.
