Jonathan Lee Winlock
onathan Lee Winlock, 21, died Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at San Juan Regional Medical Center in Farmington, NM. A memorial service will be Monday, March 17, 2008, at 10 a.m. at Maranatha Baptist Church in Ignacio. The Rev. Kelly Winlock of Maranatha Baptist Church will be officiating.
Burial will occur at Oxford Cemetery in Oxford.

Mr. Winlock was born July 14, 1986, in Durango, Colorado, the son of Michael Winlock and Laura M. Richards. Mr. Winlock grew up in Ignacio and attended school there.

He had recently been working on his GED and was attending the Durango Adult Education Center.
He was employed by the Avis Rental Car Company and had also worked as a carpenter around the area, including Appenzeller’s Construction out of Arboles, and assisted Luke Harrington in handyman services.

He enjoyed all aspects of sports, was an accomplished artist, wrote poetry, cared for animals, liked reading, eating, being with friends and family, Durango Joe’s coffee and working on his fitness. “He was always happy, liked to joke, smile, laugh and talk with everyone,” reminisces his family.

He is survived by his sister, Desarae Winlock; his father, Michael Winlock; his mother Laura M. Richards; grandparents Kelly and Teresa Winlock and Keane and Rena Richards, all of Ignacio, and numerous other family members.
