Shown giving instructions to one of his Durango High School wrestlers inside Pepsi Center at the 2007 5A State Championships, Marshall Hahn will be returning to the football program he once quarterbacked to the 1996 2A championship, taking over for Dave Close as the newest head coach of the Bayfield Wolverines. Hahn, a 1997 BHS grad now married and a father of three, was also an assistant football coach in addition to leading the DHS wrestling squad. Prior to DHS, he was also a coach in similar capacities for both sports at 4A Montezuma-Cortez. During the “Refuse to Lose” season, Hahn passed for 1,106 yards and 19 TD’s, and added 300 more yards rushing with four more scores in the Wolverines’ ground-oriented attack under head coach Jon Keirns.
