IHS hosting upcoming volleyball camp July 17-19 Written by: Joel Priest 7/6/2007
It’s no surprise Terene Foutz wants to take Ignacio Volleyball to a higher ground.
But with her second year at the helm still in the distance, she’s looking to help young players from around the school district raise their game before the 2007 season is served up.
Also serving as the director of Klub Digz! Volleyball Camps, Foutz will lead a morning camp July 17-19 inside IHS Gymnasium. Girls who will be entering 7th through 9th grades this fall are encouraged to attend, and registration is open until next Wednesday, July 11.
With help from a staff of coaches and collegiate players from around the region, the three-day event will run from 8:30 a.m. until noon each day, and the cost is $45 (including a ‘Camp Pack’ with shirt, water bottle, and sports towel).
Geared towards future high school athletes, the camp will focus on skills training and reinforcement at a beginner/intermediate level. Everything from key passing, setting, and hitting fundamentals to more technical aspects of blocking, defense, and serving will be covered.
All interested should contact Foutz at 970-769-0219, or by e-mail (CoachT4U2@aol.com) for more information and/or camp registration. Prospective campers can also download and print a registration form off the Internet (www.ignacio.k12.co.us) and mail it by the deadline. Expect to have fun, and definitely “Expect To Sweat!”
