Ignacio shocked at loss to Telluride Written by: Joel Priest 2/22/2013
Ignacio's Kelton Richmond (21) times a block of Telluride's Connor Courter (11) Saturday inside the MinerDome, though he was whistled for a dubious foul. But as things played out, the entire night of San Juan Basin League road action left Bobcats and their backers in disbelief. Telluride sprung a 60-50 upset, in which IHS, a top-seven squad in Class 2A coming in, never led after very early in the second quarter. The Bobcat boys are now 14-4 overall, and 5-1 in the SJBL.
Saturday night's boys game at home vs. Norwood was cancelled due to a CHSAA ruling that the Bobcats had played their maximum number of games this season. The girls will still play against the top-ranked Norwood team. JV games start at 2 p.m. in the IHS gym.
